MARYVILLE - If quarterback is the most important position on
the football field, Maryville and Farragut high schools have
some crucial weeks of preseason practices coming.

The Class 6A and District 4-AAA rivals took the first steps to
replacing talented quarterbacks lost to graduation Saturday at
the East Tennessee 7-on-7 Pass Perimeter Practice Day at
Maryville College.

"We're trying to get all our quarterbacks and receivers reps out
here," said Farragut coach Eddie Courtney.

Junior Cody Rule emerged from spring practice with a leg up
in the race to replace Reese Browning, the Admirals' career
leader in completions, yards and touchdowns.
