We have mentioned before on the POW page that past performances shouldn't
have any bearing on who wins the POW award each week. Round 4's winner has
earned a lil extra recognition however.
Senior QB Brent Burnette has been nothing but on fire all season. He is now the
single season holder of 4 MHS records (TD's, completions, attmepts, total passing
yards) and is tied for the all time most TD passes in a single game with Scott
Wilkes and Jason Phillips for 5 in a game.
Friday night performance was no less stunning, as Brent went 13 of 19 for 255
yards and 3 TD passes. He also eclipsed counterpart Curt Phillips on the nite as
Phillips spent most of the night running.
Brent now has just under 3300 career passing yards and 36 TD passes to his
credit. He has 1 more game at the Boro to put the records further out of reach.
